In the beginning, there weren’t any; I hoped to avoid the
postage and the paperwork. Readers were encouraged to watch for
Snake publications to appear at readings around town, or at The
Book Collector, and they were reminded that contributors always
get copies, so submitting was the way to get a current issue.
But, for a variety of reasons, not everybody wants to submit to
every issue. And there are non-poets and beginners who like to
read poetry, but are not likely to send poems. Yet.
So we have subscriptions (snail bux): currently $18/year, for
which you get four Reviews and
assorted littlesnake broadsides sent to your home. This $18
makes these Snake publications available to the above-mentioned
people, as well as to those who live too far away to visit The
Book Collector or be regulars on the Sacramento scene. But it
doesn’t really cover even the postage, so if you can get Snake
stuff any other way, that is strongly advised.
What?? A publication that counsels AGAINST subscriptions???
That’s right—we started out free and we try to stay that way.
Anyway, if getting your Snake publications at your home is best
for you, then please send snail bux (made out to Kathy Kieth) to Kathy Kieth, P.O. Box
